After baseball, Congress tackles lip-singing Ashlee Simpson writes new book exposing the ugly rumors of lip singing on a national level by major pop singing stars circa 2004 WASHINGTON, D.C.—After successfully getting answers from professional baseball players, Congress has decided to intervene in other matters of national security by subpoenaing pop singing stars Ashlee Simpson and Britney Spears to investigate lip-singing. This hearing comes in the face of Ashlee’s tell all book that accuses several American idol finalists of using lip singing to enhance their chances of winning. "Everyone was doing it back in 2004. A major singer carrying a suit case full of CDs was as normal as fake body parts," said Simpson in her book, titled, My Lips are Singing the Truth. "We demand answers," said a member of Congress. "Our children look up to you. and quite frankly Ms. Simpson, your book does not provide answers, but leads to more questions." Congress will also encourage Spears to explain what she thinks can be done about rising gas prices, Social Security, and a good exit strategy for US troops leaving Iraq.
