Artest seeks 30 days off rap career to fight NBA suspension

Derrick Mosley attempts to extort volatile basketball player with brawl tape

CHICAGO--Derrick Mosely, a 38-year-old Chicago "community activist," is now the man accused of trying to extort money from baseball star Gary Sheffield. Authorities say Mosely threatened to go public with videotape he claimed featured R. Kelly having sex with Sheffield's wife, DeLeon, a gospel singer.

Now it appears he's attempting to extort Ron Artest according to investigative work by Bean Soup Times. Mosley claims to have a tape of the Detroit-Pistons brawl. he seeks nearly $1million dollars to destroy the tape.

"I could go public with this tape and ruin your rap career," said Mosely via phone to Artest. "But I won't if I could counsel you in anger management."

Meanwhile, Ron Artest hopes his own record label will give him a 30-day leave of absence so he can focus on overturning his NBA suspension that will cost him $5million in pay. "They'll give me the time off," he said. "That $5 million was going to be used to pay their salaries and spice up the videos."
