The Rebirth of Classic Hip-Hop Kicks Off in Chicago with a Live Band

MC Eiht, Philadelphia Freeway and AZ to headline the debut  

Chicago, IL (March 22, 2017) — Rappers MC Eiht, Philadelphia Freeway, and AZ will perform for the first time collectively to a live band in Chicago on Saturday, March 25 at the Park West, located at 322 W. Armitage Ave. The event, produced by Knowledge Beckom Presents, will begin at 8 p.m. CST and end at 11:30 p.m. CST.

“This show is the debut of the Classic Hip-Hop Lives Unplugged concert series where we are reclaiming the Golden Era of hip-hop by delivering 90’s hip-hop rhymes to a live band,” stated Knowledge Beckom, the show producer.  “We are giving our guests a unique experience and a new way to consume their favorite hits from yesteryear,” he added.  “This project was produced from the love of hip-hop music and the culture and lifestyle it represents.  Through this performance, we are giving hip-hop a unique tribute that surpasses the usual rap concert of rhymes over electronic beats.”

The show will open with Chicago-based hip hop group ONE SHADOW and Philadelphia Freeway performing, followed by MC EIHT.  To cap off the evening, AZ will take the stage.  The Moe Fitz Project, helming from Chicago, will serve as the live band, and DJ Jay Illa and Jamal Smallz will provide the musical soundtrack in between sets.

Customers can purchase tickets at, and prices range from $37.50 to $56.

Additionally, on March 24 from 8 p.m. – 12 a.m. CST invited media and VIP guests will have an opportunity to participate in “An Evening with Philadelphia Freeway.” This intimate and private event will allow guests to mix and mingle with the artist who is also one of the most prominent artists of the early 2000’s from Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings. This occasion, hosted at a private location and invite only, will give fans the opportunity to ask questions and hear first-hand about the experiences that have helped Philadelphia Freeway create and sustain his place in classic hip-hop. The invitation to this event also includes an open bar and sounds by Jay Illa and Jamal Smallz.
