Patterson fortunate to be blind, says former Clinton fundraiser
Geraldine Ferraro says newly appointed New York Governor David Patterson, a black man
, only got the chance because he’s blind. Patterson, who replaced former New York Governor
Eliot Spitzer who resigned due to his connection to a prostitution ring, is leagally blind.
Until recently, Ferraro was on Clinton's finance committee serving as “Honorary New York
Leadership Council Chair,” but she resigned after controversial remarks about
U.S. Senator Barack Obama.
Now, refusing to back down, Ferraro made it clear that a blind, black man in America is
very privileged. “Thank God he’s not in a wheel chair,” she said. “He’d be king of the world.”
