How did you get into the music industry?
I have been rhyming for over 10 years now. I started out in high school. Once I arrived in college, I hooked up with Slide Jackson and Wes Craven and we formed the group GCL (Grimy Cat Life). In 2001, GCL and I came out with a series of music CDs displaying our musical talent. That musical collection (“The Trilogy” is what I call it) consisted of three CDs that brought forth a unique, positive, and uplifting sound to the hip-hop world. In early 2002, GCL and Chevy Brougham merged with Fed-Up entertainment. We created the group named SFL or Soldiers Field League. In 2004 I started Miraculous Entertainment. Since then I came out with several CDs showcasing my skills as an lyricist and a producer.

What is most important to you about your music? the lyrics, the melody, etc.
They both are equally important. I try to keep my art real and mind stimulating. I stick to being myself and not follow any one else or popular trends that you would hear on the radio today. Everyone from the age of 5 to 55 can relate to my music. It’s universal. Once you hear it, it will make you yearn for more.

You don’t use sex, drugs and violence in your music. Why?
My personal interests as an artist is to uplift the minds of the mentally dead. My goal is to spread knowledge thru my lyrics, and hopefully put an everlasting positive effect on someone’s life. My name itself explains what I stand for: Goodness And Maturity Equals Positive Reactions by Others

Tell me about your latest project?
My Latest Project “The Things That Define G.P.” is probably my best work to date. It features artist Shanara, Cash’Mair, Chevy Broham, and Reign Starr (from Throw’d TV). I also have other producers that I worked with on the album. They are Logic, and Chase Beatz. This album is a true hip hop album that touches on several topics. From current world issues to relationship drama that many face today the album covers it all. It’s a must have for all hip hop heads!
