3,000 hours of relationship tapes do
nothing for woman’s love life Denee’ Williams has "run with the wolves," "burned the sheets," found "value in the valley," written her own "vagina monologue" and has been “art loosed,” yet she is still single. “I just don’t get it,” said Williams. “Everybody said work on yourself first. So I did. I got T.D. Jakes, Junita Bynum, Iyanla Vanzant, Creflo and Tammi Dollar, that Mars and Venus guy. I have become ‘me inc.’ I really like myself. I love myself, but why doesn’t anyone else?” Williams' friends are equally baffled. “She’s the most together person I know. She can quote from just about any self-help book. She’s everything I wish I was, except the no man part,” said her childhood friend Teresa Brawley. One of Williams' male friends paints a different picture. “Denee’ is too together,” said her anonymous male friend. “We can’t just talk and kick it anymore. It’s about ‘bonding.’ Its not about a few sentences, some humor and silly talk. We gots to talk and talk and talk and talk about feelings and stuff. It’s a complete drag.” The anonymous friend continued. “Then she gots to ‘fix’ me. Always wanting to enlighten a brotha and spiritually evolve me. I can protect her in the streets and kick it with her momma, but I can’t handle the truth like she brings it.” Williams just wants a well-rounded man she said. “The man I hook up with isn’t hard to find. He’s vulnerable with me, but strong with his momma, silent with his friends, but communicative to me, spiritual on Sundays, but and earthly on Saturday nights and he’s a leader at work, but my follower at home,” she said. “In fact there’s a tape on that very subject I’ve been meaning to watch. I’ll do that Saturday night, since I’ve got nothing else to do.”
